Odd habit of the movie. One Jareth, one Hoggle, one Ludo, and so on. Where are all the others like them? There are certainly lots of goblins, fireys, fairies, etc. so it's not like it's the norm to be one of a kind.

There were those other people in that ballroom scene - so maybe more of Jareth's kind.

Oh that's true...I think of that whole scene as a dream, so none of the other people would be real, but in truth we really don't know, do we?

This is going to sound a little silly, but there was an episode of "Monsters & Mysteries in America" s02e05 that had a story about this lady who had an evil gnome around her house. It sounds silly, but it was kind of creepy - I suggest checking it out. It reminded me of Hoggle - if he went nuts. I always thought of Hoggle as a Dwarf, but in the book he's referred to as a Gnome. I think he's more of a Dwarf...a Dwarf-mix maybe.
